Check out Emily Haines' playlist in her own words.
"Kashmir" - For epic rock jams few songs come close to this classic. A great way to prepare for battle whether that battle is turning a grim backstage into a party or getting ready to defeat an evil ex.
"Undercover (Of The Night)" - Undercover is one of these odd Stones tunes that works from the 80's. They figured out some disco tricks and sing along hooks in this one. Weird awesome video as well.
"96 Tears" - If you have ever been lucky enough to be there for a Emily Haines DJ set (aka DJ Emotional) this track is a staple. And now thanks to a fan in Chicago we have a copy of it on vinyl as well. Magic.
"Someone Great" - Some songs build perfectly, leading you to the unexpected place you wanted to go but didn't know how to find. This one is a dance celebration of loss.
"Wish You Were Here" - Does this song really need any more reasons to love this classic? Well done again and again and again Pink Floyd.
"You Do You" - New Brooklyn arrivals Bear In Heaven give you a treat that is them. We found them and they found us. During a short but sweet tour we all fell in love.
"Satisfaction" - Out of nowhere this 70's & 80's experimental punk freak pop project came up with the best cover of a Stones tune. They show us the way to take a song and make it your own. Love it and do it justice.
"Candy Says" - Ok, listen to this one alone late at night and realize what a deep thinker Candy was. Lovely. Who doesn't want to walk away from themselves sometimes? A big wow to reality.
"Paranoid" - He directly asks for help, "Can you help me occupy my brain?"
"Heroes" - In one song he wants to be a King who can swim like a dolphin, make you his Queen and kiss you while guards shoot over his head. Thanks man.
"Take It Or Leave It" - Pure energy sing along. These guys killed it at Lollapalooza. Welcome back.
'Teen Creeps" - Once in awhile you might want some LA punk duo to tell you that you were right about those assholes in high school. And you want them to do it loud.
